Match report RNVR headed to Lindfield on a bright sunny morning.
Important football game later so a 30/30 was decided upon that would end up being win/lose/draw with declaration.
Hosts win toss and send the R in to bat.
Solid opening partnership from Reza and Hardman take us to the 10 over mark at 60-odd.
A couple of LBWs later and new man Ratcliffe at the crease with skipper, runs start to flow.
Both retire on 40/50 and late flurry of action in the last overs take RNVR to 185 before we declare 2 overs early.
After a brief turnaround (who needs Tea anyway), the R hit the field and good opening spells from Vinay and A Massey reap just the single wicket.
Cue B Dale with a mesmerising spell of spin bowling, 5 wickets for not many and the heart of the Lindfield batting truly ripped out.
Interspersed with a direct hit run-out from the skipper; Hillman, Hardman, and Crichton set about their spells and managed to extract some thrilling turn from the wicket. Crichton rewarded with wicket caught mid wicket.
It was left to the final pair to bat out a nervy 5 overs without dismissal ensuring Lindfield achieved a losing draw.
Overall good performances from the RNVR, pipped at the post!
