Match report After fighting off a brief morning deluge, RNVR won the toss and chose to field first, hopefully utilising the overhead cloud cover to good effect. After solid opening spells from Warnes Snr and Buckland, Frano and Warnes Jnr bowled superbly to keep the Outwood run-rate down at 3.5 after 20 overs. But as the sun came out, the outfield quickened, and the runs started to flow.... No 3 and 5 for Outwood both struck good centuries, well deserved, and making the RNVR fielders toil, before calling in the declaration after 45 overs.

After an excellent lunch of beef chilli and more than our fair share each of port and red wine, the RNVR chase began in earnest. After Maroof fell early, Matty Dryden and Vinay put on one of the better partnerships seen in RNVR colours with a mix or attack and defence, beautifully taking advantage of the odd loose ball. Matty brought up a superb century with a huge straight 6, and the Outwood defenders looked truly bewildered.

After Matty fell caught behind, Vacher Snr, continued with a perfectly timed 34, accompanying Vinay towards his ton, before both sadly fell to top edges. It was left to the skipper and Vacher Jnr to knock off the remaining 20 runs or so to secure a memorable 6 wicket win. A great game at a great ground, once again.
