Match report F Feeny (Cuckfield CC) & J Cadenhead set a 9th wicket partnership record for this fixture that stands to this day (Jan 2021), 71 seasons later, of 26. The longest standing one for the RNVR. Mr Cadenhead and Peter Connolly came close in 1955 to beating this with 25, but the next highest was in 1995 with 20!

Possibly a beer match, possibly a two innings game hastily agreed upon when Barcombe suppassed RNVR (1st) innings very quickly in what must have been (might have been) an all day game.

I found a started second innings for Barcombe, who had led on first innings.
The scorebook is laid out with the RNVR innings on the left hand page and Barcombe on the right hand page. The intent must therefore have been to try to have a two innings game (as Barcombe led on first innings), but this doesn't explain Barcombe batting before RNVR.

I will clearly need to visit the Barcombe pavilion attic again. I had started copying the cards from "the beginning" and wanted to get them all done that afternoon and I don't recall reading them at the time.

There are no bowler details for Barcombe 2nd innings
