Very strange game and probably the most dangerous pitch ever played on for first 10 overs

40 over game, after 20 we were about 70 for 6 with Tim batting over an hour to get 5 (brave performance as was being hit quiet a lot with the ball rearing up off a length and pea-rolling when short).

In step Tony and Nins and 20 overs, my bat breaking and some expansive play we were 166 all out!! [Editor's note: this was the highest 8th wicket partnership at WSL, 84 runs from 68-7 in the 21st over to 152-8 in the 37th]

Liddell opened with his leg strapped up after coming off the Doctor's table ( golf injury) and bowling off 3 paces and within 3 overs there had been 2 drops and the opener was smashing it all round the ground.... it looked ominous.

Slowly we started to exert some control despite the pitch having placated (obviously) and the game was on.

Over next 2 hours the game went back and forth as the max Eight over allocations of the 4 recognised bowlers began to run out. Anyway Tom came on with 8 overs left and 25 for to get with 9 down and after a couple of boundaries one was spooned to CC at square leg.............but was dropped

CC then came on at the other end and was smashed to long on where a quivering Tim stood underneath a monster........ with deathly silence covering the ground.

He held it and........ cue monty style celebrations..... by tim, as everyone celebrated pretty wildly. We'd won by 13 runs.
