Match report Mr Crossley played one game for the RNVR CC. He is the only person since 1990 (at least) to have found the club via his membership of the Naval Club, Hill Street. He had been in the Navy, and was perhaps surprised that we had not been.

It was perhaps inconvenient that he made this debut on the same day as Ashley Cooper, an Australian of great charm and huge ability.......

Given that Sinha retired hurt just short of his 50 I do recall taking a certain amount of well earnt flak for declaring with two batsman not out in their 40s. Notwithstanding we won the game with 3 overs to go of the twenty I did feel that we had batted long enough clearly. Sorry Chaps. It just points to the problems of starting an innings at 2.48pm..........

Dr Sinha later recalled (when not selected for the RNVRs Broken XI in Feb 2021): - I could be 13 th man for having my face split open, backing up, a month before my wedding at Outwood in June 2000 and taken to Redhill ED by Barker who was appalled that I had to wait in the queue with the public! Had several stitches the next day at St George’s and had to apply layers of make up by my mate Shuman's wife on the morning of the wedding to hide the scar over my left lip !
