Nearly 50 years after his last game David Thornton will play once more for the RNVR on Sunday. Forest Green CC is where David scored his last century in 1966. Sadly a tidy up in the pavilion which the cricketers share with the football club has meant that the scorebook for that actual game is lost.
The fixture Secretary at Forest Green was so impressed with the length of history being unfurled that he offered us a new fixture, and Thornton, never shy, still thinks he has another ton in him. He's only 90.
