Dr Tinker (20 Jan1936- 14 April 2010) was a widely publisher medical doctor. He was Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Hospital Medicine. Emeritus Consultant, University College Hospitals, 1996-2010. Dr Jack Tinker and ITU physiotherapist Sue. Lewis created the first Intensive Care courses for Physio- therapists in the UK.

Jack Tinker was a pioneer of modern intensive care therapy who reformed the structure of postgraduate medical education, was dean of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) and on the editorial board of several important medical journals.
